Soyglo Candles
Project Overview
Soyglo Candles is a craft candle brand focused on creating eco-friendly, clean-burning candles made from 100% natural soy wax. The goal was to develop a visual identity that reflected warmth, relaxation, sustainability, and the sensory experience of the products.
Challange
The challenge was that the labels needed to stay consistent. I needed to create a brand identity that communicated the natural qualities of soy candles while making customers feel the comfort, warmth, and atmosphere associated with each scent. I also needed to identify a way to make a logo and brand mark for separate uses, one for the product and one for the website.
Design Process,
The design direction focused on combining organic elements, calming colors, and elegant typography to create a brand that felt natural, approachable, and memorable. Every visual choice was made to support the idea of a clean, relaxing candle experience.
The wordmark combines flowing script typography with a modern serif font to balance warmth and sophistication. The extended lettering details create movement, representing the natural flow of candle wax, fragrance, and the glow of a flame.
The golden brown and green color palette represents natural ingredients, warmth, and organic stability. The gradient effect within the wordmark adds a subtle flame-inspired element that reinforces comfort and relaxation.
The candle icon features an unfinished oval with a flame ember in the center, representing the top of a glowing candle. The simple symbol allows the brand to remain recognizable across different applications.
Applications & Reflection
The identity was designed to be flexible across packaging, merchandise, print materials, and digital platforms. The visual system creates a consistent brand experience that connects the product with the feeling of comfort and calm.
This project focused on creating more than a candle logo—it focused on building an experience. The final identity communicates sustainability, warmth, and the emotional connection customers have with their favorite scents.
